My Future Career Own Clothes Day - School Fundraising

Million Makers

2024 Tesco & The Prince’s Trust Million Makers School Fundraising

Thank you for taking part in Team Tesco Titan’s Million Makers fundraising initiative in support of The Prince’s Trust. You are helping to make a difference in the lives of thousands of young people by helping to donate money to The Prince’s Trust.

In school you have learnt about what The Prince’s Trust & Million Makers is, and all about the wide range of careers available at Tesco. Now it’s time for you to raise funds for The Prince’s Trust and show us what you would like to be when you grow up on your school’s My Future Career Own Clothes Day!

 Things to remember:

  • Donate £1 to participate in the Own Clothes Day - you can do this through this online form or through donating £1 at school. If you are donating on this form, then please leave the name of your school only on the form. DO NOT write your full name.

  • Think about what you would wear in your future career

  • Have fun!

Remember that the funds you raise will be donated towards your school and to charity, so the more we raise, the more we can help each other!

What is Million Makers & The Prince’s Trust?

Million Makers is an entrepreneurial fundraising challenge which sees teams of employees compete to collectively raise over £1 million to transform young lives, from July to December 2024. The Prince’s Trust charity was founded in 1976 by His Majesty King Charles III when he was HRH The Prince of Wales. The charity supports 11-to-30-year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to build the confidence and essential skills to live, learn and earn. Team Tesco Titans from Tesco are organising a series of events to raise funds for The Prince's Trust through the Million Makers challenge. These events are estimated to raise £10,000 in total, to be donated before March 2025. The Prince’s Trust is a registered charity in England and Wales (1079675) and Scotland (SC041198).

Why does Tesco want to involve primary school children in fundraising?

Tesco prides itself on giving back to community and schools and is excited to involve primary school children in fundraising for The Prince’s Trust and for their school. Through this fundraising initiative, Tesco hopes to educate primary children on the importance of helping others and future careers. This will be achieved through providing each school age-appropriate lesson packs on these matters, and inspiring young children to think about their future through the ‘My Future Career Own Clothes Day’.

What will the fundraising consist of?

School Fundraising for The Prince’s Trust can take place between September to December 2024. Each school can choose a suitable date to run their Own Clothes Day. Each child that participates in the fundraising will be requested to donate a minimum of £1 to The Prince’s Trust in exchange for wearing their future career work outfit.

Each child can donate by either bringing in cash to school or they can donate directly online to the Tesco Titans School fundraising page: https://events.princes-trust.org.uk/fundraisers/Schools/million-makers

Out of the funds donated, 30% will go to the school and the remaining 70% will be donated towards The Prince’s Trust.
