A message from the Alumni Board

The Alumni Board, Patrick Walker, Elaine Wrigley and Ben Dale, each took part in the Million Makers challenge over the last decade. After feeling deflated when their fundraising journey came to an end, they were left wondering what more they could do to continue their involvement in Million Makers and support of The Prince’s Trust.

Members of the Alumni Network receive:

  • Opportunities to continue involvement in the Million Makers challenge, becoming a Dragon, mentor for future Million Maker teams, or even a panellist at one of our expert-led skills sessions
  • Invitations to Alumni networking events
  • Quarterly newsletters
  • Bespoke opportunities to represent the Alumni Network as a speaker
  • Volunteering opportunities to see the impact of fundraising
  • Exclusive access and discounts to Prince’s Trust events

Alumni success stories

The Million Makers journey was the best of my career to date. The networking involved in Million Makers has opened doors for me within Capgemini and I have since started a new position working with people I met along the journey. Since finishing Million Makers, I have joined the Alumni Network, supporting new teams on their journey and advising them on all of the ‘to dos’ and mistakes to avoid along the way. I very much look forward to continuing my support of The Prince’s Trust for years to come.

I was honoured to take part in the 2022 Million Makers competition along with Team Power from Dell Technologies. I learnt so much from this leadership experience that I will take forward in my career. I had the opportunity of working with peers I wouldn't otherwise have engaged with and this experience gave me exposure to senior leaders in the business.

Participating in the Million Makers Challenge was a highly rewarding experience. It allowed me to take part in a "mini project" from start to finish and be involved in various disciplines which I don't typically encounter in my day job, such as finance and marketing. This experience taught me a lot and allowed me to form new connections while supporting The Prince's Trust's commendable work.

I had an amazing experience participating in Million Makers in 2020. It really pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me develop my negotiation skills by speaking to suppliers and people in my wider network. Through this experience, I gained valuable skills such as leadership, teamwork, and project & budget management, which I know have benefitted me both personally and professionally. I am now a member of the Alumni Network because I wanted to stay involved with The Prince's Trust.
